How to save Tomato Seeds
Select a ripe, healthy tomato from your garden.
Cut the tomato into sections and scoop out the seeds along with the surrounding gel.
Place the seeds and gel in a glass or plastic container and add a little water.
Cover the container with plastic wrap and poke a few holes in it for ventilation.
Allow the mixture to ferment at room temperature for 2-4 days. This process helps remove the gel coating and any potential diseases.
Stir the mixture daily and notice the formation of a mold on the surface; this is normal.
After fermentation, pour the mixture through a fine sieve to separate the seeds from the gel.
Rinse the seeds thoroughly under running water and lay them out on a paper towel to dry.
Once completely dry, store the seeds in a labeled paper envelope or small glass jar in a cool, dark place.
